Oisín McCaffrey
From Sligo, Ireland
Oisín McCaffrey plays guitar in Amble and is one of its three songwriters. He is from Sligo, and was working as a data scientist and programmer at Pfizer when the band took off.
Oisín’s Story
Before Amble he was already writing his own songs. He and Robbie met in Dublin in 2022 and started out as a duo playing songs in pubs, before bringing Ross in on mandolin and banjo.
Leaving a steady career was the hardest part. "I come from a family where you go to college, you get a job and then you're happy and you live your life," he told the Irish Examiner. "To give all that up essentially for music was a big, big moment."

“I think it comes back to the storytelling culture of Ireland. Even in a pub, everyone's telling stories. We try and bring that into the songs.”
