Robbie Cunningham
From County Leitrim, Ireland
Robbie Cunningham sings and plays guitar in Amble, and writes songs alongside Oisín and Ross. He is from County Leitrim, and before music took over he was a primary school teacher at St Pius in Terenure, Dublin.
Robbie’s Story
He started Amble with Oisín in 2022, when the two met in Dublin and began playing songs in pubs for a laugh (and free pints). When Ross sent the voice note that turned the pub act into a proper band, Robbie was all in: "My whole life, I wanted to be in a band."
When he told his father he was quitting teaching, the reply came back by text: "Throw the trout out to catch the salmon." The phrase stuck with all three of them, and it now appears on Amble T-shirts.
In His Own Words
“I'd die a happy man knowing I played a sell out show at the Olympia. Please God the first of many.”
“I don't think I put faith in music. I think I put faith in the two boys more than that.”
